Free employee smoking cessation program
This program is available to all UF employees, including OPS, who are interested in quitting smoking. Medical screening and pre-registration is required. Visit the Employee Assistance Program web site for details.

To promote the health and well-being of faculty, staff, and students, the University of Florida became a tobacco-free campus effective July 1, 2010. The use of cigarettes or other tobacco products in UF buildings, parking lots, or in vehicles in these areas is now prohibited.

The University of Florida Health Science Center and Shands HealthCare facilities effected this policy in November of 2009 and have provided a number of resources to assist employees and their loved ones to stop smoking. Links to these and other resources are provided via this site.

Tobacco dependence is our nation’s most preventable cause of death and disease, including cancer. If you would like to break the habit, many resources are available. More information about counseling services, self-help materials and medicines to help smokers and tobacco-users quit successfully can be accessed here.
