Leave and State Transfers
Effective March 30, 2007, an employee may transfer up to 80 hours of vacation leave and 80 hours of sick leave when transferring from a state agency, state institution, state university, or from Santa Fe Community College.
Hours transferred will be cashed out in accordance with UF leave policies. An employee’s sick leave will be cashed out based only on the employee’s credited years of service with UF.
Sick Leave Pool Membership
A state transfer immediately will be eligible to join UF’s Sick Leave Pool. If he or she is interested in participating, a membership application must be submitted within 30 days of his or her start date or during the October open enrollment period.
