Advertising with the Chronicle is now less expensive
Recruitment and Staffing has recently negotiated a new agreement with the Chronicle of Higher Education that offers substantial savings for all University of Florida departments. The agreement now includes unlimited web advertising on www.chronicle.com as well as a 35% discount on box and image print advertisements. Please contact your recruiter or Melissa Curry at melissa-curry@ufl.edu if you have any questions.
GatorJobs adds Reference Letter Collection feature
Recruitment & Staffing is happy to announce the addition of an electronic Reference Letter Collection feature in GatorJobs. This feature enables a hiring manager to collect and track references on a potential candidate systematically.
With the new feature, at the appropriate stage of recruitment, an e-mail will be sent to each of the references provided by the candidate requesting a reference be submitted for the candidate along with instructions on how to submit. This optional feature provides an opportunity to save hiring managers time in the recruitment process by eliminating the need to take the time to call each contact.
An instruction guide will be available in the near future. For more information about this feature, contact Recruitment & Staffing at (352) 392-2477 or employment@ufl.edu.
Timely appointments necessary for GatorGradCare enrollees
Effective immediately, the Viable Outreach Process Report is no longer required as a part of the recruitment process. Human Resource Services is currently reviewing faculty recruitment and making changes as appropriate. As a reminder, the Recruitment Compliance Report is still required to finalize faculty recruitments. Please contact Elnora Mitchell at (352) 273-1725 if you have any questions.
W-2s available online by the end of the calendar year
By the end of 2009, UF employees will have the ability to access their W-2s online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Those who consent to receiving an electronic copy will be able to print multiple copies without delay as well as access previous years’ W-2s as far back as 2004.
Employees will be provided the opportunity to sign up for the electronic version via a consent form that will be available through a secure myUFL web site. Consent is required by federal regulations; if an employee does not consent, he or she will be sent a W-2 by mail. A confirmation will be sent via e-mail when consent is either given or revoked.
Watch for further details in the weeks to come.
E-Verify coming in October
An executive order requiring federal contracts to use E-Verify was effective on September 8, and the University of Florida expects to begin using the system in early October. UF Bridges is currently collaborating with HRS to provide a technical solution for both new hires and current employees. Penalties for not complying with E-Verify within three days of the hire include fines and a loss of federal funding. Watch for further details next month. |
