UF prepares for holiday closing period
This year, the university will observe Friday, January 2, 2009, as a holiday in addition to the regular December and New Year’s holidays. This decision was based on the proximity of that date to the holiday closing period that runs from December 25, 2008, through January 1, 2009. College of Medicine clinics located on the Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses will be open January 2, 2009; therefore, faculty and staff who have clinic responsibilities are expected to report for work.
Year-to-date pay information available through December 18
Although paycheck statements are available in myUFL's "My Self Service" indefinitely, the year-to-date (YTD) balances on your final 2008 statement will only be available for you to view until the evening of December 18.

Eligible USPS employees may request advanced vacation leave for closing period
USPS staff not designated “essential employees” may request vacation leave advancement in the event they do not have sufficient vacation or compensatory leave to cover normal working hours if their departments shut down completely or choose to operate with minimum staffing for the holiday closing period of December 26 to December 31.
Excess vacation leave to convert to sick leave in January
This year, vacation leave conversion will take place at the end of the December 26, 2008 - January 8, 2009, pay period.
