Superior Accomplishment Award Winners

More than 350 employees gathered at the J. Wayne Reitz Union's Grand Ballroom on April 25 for the 2006 Superior Accomplishment Awards ceremony. This annual program recognizes staff and faculty members who contribute outstanding and meritorious service, efficiency and/or economy, or to the quality of life for students and employees.

Apply for UF adoption benefit by the end of this month

The deadline to apply for the state of Florida’s 2006 adoption benefit program is May 31. Information regarding the rules and benefit application are available online at the State of Florida’s Division of Human Resource Management’s web site.

Personal Leave (Personal Holidays and TEAMS/Faculty Personal Leave Days)

Still have unused personal leave days or personal holidays? Now’s the time to use them!

Given the myUFL system process for awarding and expiring personal holidays and personal leave days, this year, employees have until the end of the pay period in which June 30 (the end of the fiscal year) occurs to use their unused personal holiday (if USPS) or personal leave days (if TEAMS or eligible faculty).

Unused personal holidays or personal leave days will expire on July 14--the day after the end of that pay period. The FY 06-07 personal holidays for USPS employees will be awarded and available to use on July 17, 2006. Personal leave days for TEAMS and eligible faculty are awarded in December of each year.

UF employees experiencing or expecting to experience a “qualifying status change” should contact University Benefits and Retirement as soon as possible to ensure they receive the appropriate benefits. Employees have only 31 days after a qualifying event occurs to make coverage changes. A status change includes any of the following:
