Contact Employment and Classification before extending an offer of employment

Before making a job offer to a potential TEAMS or USPS employee, departments must contact the appropriate Employment and Classification recruiter. He or she will confirm that recruitment policies and procedures have been followed and ensure the applicant is approved for hire. This includes verifying education, ensuring employment verifications and reference checks have been completed, approving anticipated salary and start date, and reviewing any additional requirements of the position. In addition, the recruiter will verify the application submitted is complete and accurate. Applicants are not authorized to work until the department has contacted its recruiter for approval. More information is available in the http://www.hr.ufl.edu/managers/offer.htm section of Human Resource Services’ web site.

Manager's Toolkit section of web site provides valuable information

Human Resource Services’ online “Manager’s Toolkit” is your guide to managing and supervising employees at the University of Florida. Whether you're seeking information about how to hire a new employee, establish an employee, compensation, granting employee leave, or supervisory training opportunities, this area of the HRS site was designed especially to meet UF managers’ needs.  Go to www.hr.ufl.edu/managers to learn more.

Updated sexual harassment training attendance information now available

Managers can now confirm which employees have attended the university's workshop on sexual harassment in the Manager Self-Service section of the myUFL system reflected in the “Training Summary” listing.

For employees who attended the session before fall 2005 their workshop will be listed in the “Training Summary” with the correct year of attendance and a date of January 1, no matter what date the workshop was actually attended.

For those employees who attended the training in fall 2005 or later, the workshop information in the “Training Summary” will include the accurate month, day, and year.
