GatorJobs replacing e-Recruit this fall

Starting on October 16, UF will begin to use a new applicant tracking system—called GatorJobs—for all vacant jobs and positions. Powered by PeopleAdmin, this system will replace e-Recruit, which is currently in use, and will be used to post job requisitions for faculty and staff, including OPS vacancies.

The new GatorJobs system provides several advantages for UF, including ease of posting job vacancies by department administrators (or originators), applying for jobs by interested applicants, and reviewing applications and resumes by hiring authorities.

What your department needs to know about the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

The Family and Medical Leave Act, also known as the FMLA, provides up to 12 work weeks of protected leave to an employee for an absence due to prenatal care, parental leave, foster care/adoption, or a serious health condition of self or a family member – spouse, parent, and child. It protects employees from being penalized for being absent during an FMLA-qualifying event and eliminates the fear of losing employment while absent.

Under UF leave policies, an employee may use his or her own accrued leave while absent for an FMLA-qualifying event to turn the unpaid leave into paid leave. FMLA-related time reporting codes such as “FMLA Sick – FSK” have been developed for employees to use to reflect such a designation.
